Phew

this was a hard practice as these pieces get complicated. funny enough though, i enjoy the 3/4 better than the 4/4 time, even if i mess up on it more. i don't really know why, it's just my preference.

particularly with Pyotr Illyich Tchaikovsky's Capriccio Italien. a.) that guy is a stud (maybe because he's russian, but mostly because he is the reason for the amazing soundtrack in disney's "sleeping beauty") and b.) it reminds me of floating down a river. maybe this is me recalling Barcarolle, i dunno. it's just the way i roll.

additionally, the band arrangements are hard because they do not always allow me to play the melody. while every inkling of my heart desires to figure it out any way (and sometimes do :P), i have to really force myself to play what's written out for me.

and finally, there are many moments where i understand what Adolphe Sax was talking about when having this instrument be a go between of the brass and woodwinds--there are definitely moments it sounds like a flute!!

1.5 hours + 34.75 = 36.25 hours.
